russian tea is very different to the english tradition. the centrepiece of the table is a big shiny and steaming samovar full of boiling water. a lovely little pot of strong tea stays warm on top and whatever fruits and sweets that are in the house are elegantly laid out for guests. then sweeten your tea with black cherry conserve rather than sugar… divine.
always be prepared for guests!
